Gateway Engineering Education Coalition
The changes in the engineering education have driven faculty and students to develop a broader set of competencies. These changes have required a new approach to development that seeks to increase each faculty member's understanding of how students learn and how faculty can help the students increase their ability to apply new information, new tools, new skills, and new approaches. Institutionalizing the curricular changes of the Gateway Coalition has been a significant professional development effort requiring that faculty and students accept new educational objectives and learn new approaches to teaching and learning.
